Who can switch water retailer?

If you’re a water bill payer for a business, charity, or public sector organisation operating from non-household premises, you can choose from any retailer licensed to provide water and/or wastewater retail services.

How switching works

Once you’ve signed up for an account with us, we’ll manage the switch with your current retailer on your behalf. There’s nothing else you need to do.

If you are with Castle Water and would like to change to a new retailer

Before you switch

We understand that some customers may choose to move away from Castle Water. If you’re experiencing issues with your account, we encourage you to contact us first so our customer service team can try to resolve them.

Switching to another retailer

If you decide to switch, your new retailer will manage the process directly with us. Once you’ve signed up with them, there’s nothing further you need to do.

To help ensure the switch goes through smoothly, please make sure your Castle Water account is up to date.

Why has my switch not been accepted?

If you are a Castle Water customer and your switch request has been declined, this may be for one of the following reasons:

Outstanding debt

If you have debt on your account that is over 90 days old, we may object to the switch. Any outstanding balance will need to be cleared before your new retailer can successfully initiate the transfer.

Existing contract

While many customers are on a deemed contract, some have agreed to a written contract. If this applies to you, you may not be able to switch immediately.
