Billing on Actual Usage

A quote provided through our online quote tool is an estimate of your costs based on the information you provide and historic data for your premises recorded in the market.

If you have a water meter, you will be billed based on your actual usage, calculated using the reads from your meter. Your consumption will be regularly reviewed, and your monthly payment may be adjusted accordingly. You can therefore expect a slight variation in the amount you pay based on your actual usage and how it differs from the information the estimate was based on. 

Fixed Retail Fee

Customers who are billed less than £1000 per year are subject to a Fixed Retail Fee of £12.99 per month. This amount is split evenly across all bills for the year, meaning it may be slightly more or less than £12.99 depending on the length of the month the invoice relates to.

Wholesaler Tariffs

When generating a quote through the quote tool, customers are asked to acknowledge the Terms and Conditions, which include an acknowledgement that Castle Water will increase our charges in line with any increase to Wholesale charges. These increases are based on changes to the tariffs made by the Wholesaler and generally come into effect at the beginning of each financial year.

Whilst the wholesale rates may increase, the uplift (additional retailer charge) that we apply to the contract will always remain the same. The Fixed Retail Fee of £12.99 per month for customers billed under £1,000 per year will also remain the same for the duration of your contract.

VAT

Quotes provided using our online quotation tool are not inclusive of VAT. If your business does not pay VAT but you believe you are being charged VAT on your water bill, please contact us to ensure the SIC code we have on file for you is correct.
